The near-misses are the point. Sch 40 A53 seamless and Sch 80 A106
seamless read almost identically on a quote and are two different items, so they stay
two records. A manufacturer style code with no FabLogix equivalent is held back for a
person to decide rather than quietly forced into the nearest match. The catalog behind
this holds 7,128 items across 11 categories, from carbon and stainless through
copper, cast iron, PVC and hangers. Size is held as its own attribute rather than
buried in the description — only about a tenth of the catalog carries a size in
the name, usually where a manufacturer part number changes with it — so a
fraction, an IN suffix and a bare number all land on the same value.
